This program teaches filmmakers how to integrate AI into the filmmaking pipeline while maintaining creative control. Instead of focusing only on AI tools, the course explains how AI works within real film production workflows—from script breakdown and shot design to AI video generation, editing, VFX, and sound design.

Students learn how to prevent common AI problems like visual drift, continuity errors, and unnatural performances, and how to build films that go beyond short social media clips into complete narrative projects.
The course is production-focused, meaning every concept leads to a practical output. By the end of the program, students complete a portfolio-ready film project.
Week 1 – Core Curriculum
  • Introduction to AI-Native filmmaking
  • Script breakdown for AI pipelines
  • Storyboarding and pre-visualization
  • AI video generation fundamentals

Weeks 3–4 – Capstone Sprint
Students work in teams to create a complete short film or media project within a production sprint. Possible tracks include:
  • Nature documentary short
  • Animated short

  • Advertisement for a real brand
The capstone is a team-based production sprint where each group builds one complete, self-standing film project from the ground up. The objective is simple: make one strong, portfolio-ready project—something you can confidently show studios, clients, or collaborators.

Each team selects a track at the start of the capstone, develops a clear logline and creative intent for that track, and then collaborates closely to deliver a finished work within a compressed production window. The sprint mirrors real-world creative conditions—limited time, finite resources, and the need to make decisive choices quickly.

Teams may also choose to enhance or extend a film they’ve already shot
Available Tracks (one per team):

Nature Documentary Short
A science documentary piece with a scripted VO & high quality SFX.
Animated Short
A narrative or non-narrative animated film with consistent characters, style, & motion.
Trailer / Proof-of-Concept for an Original Film
A marketable trailer that communicates the essence of a larger film you want to make- its mood, world, & dramatic promise.
New Media / Experimental Film
A project that explores nontraditional formats, structures, or viewing experiences.
Music Video
A rhythm-first project where editing, pacing, & sound design lead the storytelling.
Advertisement for a Real Brand
A tightly executed commercial concept judged on marketability.
